A Note from the Curator

Many of these works were conceived and created during the 2021 lockdowns: a time in which many of us felt as though we were being swallowed whole by the banality of our unchanging surroundings, or forced to romanticise our new Orwellian world. In this way, the Familiarity Chasm is a space we can all relate to.

“It’s inspiring to work with a group of creatives who have identified their commonalities as well as their differences, coming together as a cohort to showcase and celebrate each others’ practices. ”

— Amy Elizabeth, Curator
